David spent over two decades at Google and Amazon designing search engine algorithms and features and tuning them for maximum usefulness. His career offered him the chance to shape machine learning methodology for converting messy data into understandable, reliable results at enormous scale in maintainable ways – skills he is now applying to the smart grid.  David holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Computer Science from Cornell University.
