Yanfeng Gong

Fellow Engineer , Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories

Yanfeng Gong earned his B.S from Wuhan University, China, M.S. from Michigan Technological University in 2002 and a Ph.D. from Mississippi State University in 2005. He joined SEL at 2005 as a research engineer. From 2013 to 2019, he worked as a supervisor at AEP Advanced Transmission Studies and Technologies group. In 2019, he returned to SEL. He currently is a fellow engineer at SEL working on developing advanced power system protection solutions including high-impedance fault detection. He is the current chair of IEEE PES Analytic Method for Power System technical committee and is a member of Georgia Tech protective relaying conference planning committee.
