Inside CAISO's Journey to Efficiency and Reliability with AI
The California Independent System Operator (CAISO) performs many essential tasks to administer energy markets and ensure grid reliability. Although there was significant discussion about the potential use of AI and machine learning technologies, their use cases and impact were limited.
After collaborative discussions with OATI, CAISO decided to pilot OATI Genie, an Agentic AI platform purpose-built to help utilities, power grid operators, and the broader energy ecosystem improve and optimize processes with reliability and security as its foundation.
