Garrick Rochow
Garrick J. Rochow is President and Chief Executive Officer of CMS Energy and its principal subsidiary, Consumers Energy. The company has annual revenues of $7.5 billion, assets totaling $36 billion and ~8,300 employees. He was elected to this position in December 2020.
Rochow has a strong background in the utility industry. He has spent over two decades at Consumers Energy leading various areas of the business. Prior to his role as President and Chief Executive Officer, Rochow was Executive Vice President of Operations. He was responsible for the company’s electric and natural gas distribution and transmission operations, generation and compression operations, operations performance, regulatory compliance, and planning and scheduling.
He currently serves on the corporate boards of Priority Health and Hubbell Incorporated. Additionally, he is a board member of the Edison Electric Institute and has previously served on the board of the American Gas Association. His involvement extends to non-profit organizations and includes board positions with Business Leaders of Michigan, The Right Place, the New Community Transformation Fund, and the West Michigan Policy Forum.
Rochow graduated from Michigan Technological University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University. He also attended an executive education program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Wisconsin School of Business.
