Across the Northeast, utilities are facing more severe storms, increased community scrutiny, and rapid load growth, all while working to keep power affordable. Utilities need to clearly demonstrate where investments reduce risk, what they cost, and the results they deliver. However, disconnected systems can make it difficult to set consistent priorities and effectively support those decisions.

This half-day workshop brings together utilities, technology partners, and policymakers to explore the evolving landscape of evidence-driven investments. Utility technology environments are complex, and while infrastructure lasts for decades, conditions are constantly changing as storms occur, vegetation grows, and crews maintain and expand the network. No single tool can capture the full picture. The workshop will explore how an interconnected technology ecosystem can help turn changing information into action and measurable risk reduction.

The discussion will focus on practical questions, including what evidence teams need to assess results, defend investments to regulators and communities, and determine where the next dollar should be invested. Participants will also explore essential technology categories, when utilities should build versus buy, and which integrations are most critical.
