Last year, this panel came together to discuss progress and lessons learned from Phase 1 of the Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP) program in Massachusetts. The ESMP approved in 2024 for each of the three Electric Distribution Companies (EDCs) contains transformative solutions to enable decarbonization, electrification, and distributed energy resources on behalf of the Commonwealth’s electric customers. 2025 saw the EDCs and other stakeholders progress through additional regulatory approvals and the start of planning and deployment. Audience members will hear status updates and perspectives from each of the EDCs plus the broad stakeholder perspectives, and gain an understanding of what lies ahead for the ESMPs.
