Manager, Advanced Grid Innovation Lab for Energy (AGILe) , New York Power Authority

Victor is a Manager at the Advanced Grid Innovation Laboratory for Energy (AGILe). He joined AGILe in June 2022. He is responsible for supporting the operation and research activities of AGILe in consultation with the Director and in collaboration with other personnel to help carry out AGILe's mission in advanced transmission applications, cyber-security, automation, sensors, and power electronics.

Prior to joining NYPA, Victor worked as a Research Assistant at the Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management (FREEDM) Systems Center, at North Carolina State University (NCSU), where he worked on real-time models that co-simulate power electronics, power systems, and energy management systems. He received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from NCSU, in 2019 and 2022, respectively

Victor serves as a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy. He has hands-on experience running simulations in numerous offline and real-time platforms as well as hardware-in-the-loop testing. His research interests include power system modeling and control, the integration of renewable energy resources, and real-time co-simulation of power systems.
