Wayne Bishop

Wayne Bishop Jr. is Executive Vice President of Clarion Events North America where he oversees the Energy portfolio including POWERGEN, DistribuTECH, DTECH regional events, and the "Factor This" media properties.

Previously, Wayne was Vice President of Industry Outreach and Strategy at Danovo Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services Company, and Fortune 500 company. Wayne brings more than 35 years of experience in the electric power industry and is a Senior Member of IEEE. He has a proven ability to create new business opportunity with strong cross-functional experience in Consulting, Business Development, Marketing, Strategy, Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and Contract Negotiation.

Wayne is an active leader within the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), where he has held numerous senior leadership roles. Most notably, he served a five-year term as Vice President of Meetings and Conferences (2019–2024). In this position Wayne was responsible for the overall management of all IEEE PES Conferences worldwide including strategic planning, implementation and sustainability. He served as the Chair of the Annual TechCon Conference from 2022-2026. He has also served as a member of the IEEE PES Governing Board, an IEEE PES Officer and member of the PES Executive Committee, and IEEE PES Finance Committee for 5 years. From 2011-2026, Wayne was a contributing member of the IEEE PES Long-Range Planning Committee, where he helped develop and implement the Society’s long-term strategic plan.

Wayne regularly contributes to industry trade magazines and speaks at industry conferences. He has moderated more than 100 industry panels worldwide and gives Keynotes on a variety of subjects regularly. Wayne also serves on a number of industry advisory boards. From 2022-2025, Wayne was a Senior Advisor at LUMA Energy, the electric T&D utility for the island of Puerto Rico, where he served as a key strategic advisor to the C-Suite.

Wayne is a graduate of Merrimack College, Harvard University, and the Executive MBA Program at Suffolk University in Boston, graduating with honors. Wayne is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. He is also on the Advisory Board for IRISS Companies of Bradenton, Florida. Wayne and his family live in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts.
